The journeys in life take you to unexpected destinations. The love of a good person brings you home.
Kierra Madden, proprietor of the Kindred Lake Inn, struggles for stability after her engagement ends, family strife continues, and business slows. When her mom, sister and teenage niece move in with her, life becomes a lot more complicated. There’s certainly spare room…until one guest arrives…on his bicycle. Ryan Delaney is fit and trim…quite the eye candy.
Surrounded by springtime beauty, will the temptation of desire bloom into a more powerful and lasting love?
My thoughts: WHEN LOVE BLOSSOMS is the second book in Ms. Stock's Kindred Lake series but she is very careful to summarize the other novel (as well as a novella) in this book so new readers won't be lost.
The story has a fast paced romance, but it is more focused on the dysfunctional family dynamics of both Kierra and Ryan. Ryan is a divorced father of a teen and Kierra is a never married woman who took in her divorced sister, mother, and her teen niece. A huge mess of multiple personality types, misunderstandings, and hurt on various levels. It was nice to see the family begin to actually like each other. There was a nice faith message as well.
I was confused who Anna was at first, but then I figured out she is "mom" and Kierra thought of her as Anna. That threw me.
WHEN LOVE BLOSSOMS is a sweet story that will appeal to readers off family drama, women's fiction, or romance. There is also a very tiny suspense included.
I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.
