Marilyn’s thoughts:
Greta’s Gift is a lovely story from the opening where I felt the
chill of the blizzard hitting western South Dakota in the 1800’s. Greta had a
lot on her plate caring for her mother- in-law, step son plus the ranch.
Greta’s spirit and character shined throughout the story. When she found an
injured man out in the blizzard she didn’t hesitate to assist him.
Nathan had faced a difficult life but held to a promise to
deliver a book to Greta.
As the story progresses, there are unexpected twists and turns
to make the story a winner in every aspect. The descriptive scenes, actions,
conversations and thoughts of the hero and heroine had me captured into the
story to escape the dreariness of the weather I had. Themes of forgiveness,
trust, letting go and letting God direct a life is gently woven into the story
without making it sound preachy, along with a little suspense and budding
romance. .
This is the latest book by Elaine Manders and I found the
story exceeding her last release in this series. I’ve enjoyed every book I’ve
read by Manders with her complex characters, plots, and themes for readers to
connect with. I’ll be watching for her next release whether in this series or
another series.
