INSRUCTING A CHILD’S HEART is chock full of wonderful material on how to instruct your child in the way he should go.

The book is divided up into three sections:

Part 1 – The Call to Formative Instruction covers three chapters, including the five goals for formative instruction.

Part 2 – Introduction to Formative Instruction has eight chapters covering the heart of behavior, the sowing and reaping of Scripture, and the importance of church.

Part 3 - Application of Formative Instruction has four chapters including communication, and corrective discipline.

Instructing a child’s heart is not simply transferring data from parent to child, as the author points out in the book. It is impressing the heart with truth. Parents are always looking for tips and ideas that will address the “top ten problems” they would like to know how to solve. The authors advocate that you need more than tips and ideas, you need solid biblical truth.

The book has some very excellent advice, all of which is supported by scripture. Most chapters have little box inserts included with some ideas that you can implicate into your child’s life right away. INSTRUCTING A CHILD’S HEART is an excellent resource to help you every step of the way. $13.95. 188 pages.
