Yuletide Treasure

Title: YULETIDE TREASURE
Authors: Lauraine Snelling and Jillian Hart
Publisher: Love Inspired
November 2008
ISBN: 978-0-373-78631-2
Genre: Inspirational/historical romance

The Finest Gift by Lauraine Snelling. Arley Hoople doesn’t dream of romance. After all, even if a suitor did come calling, he’d have to get past her overbearing grandmother first. Not many men are that brave. So, when Arley falls and breaks her grandmother’s favorite nutcracker, she goes off to the woodcarver’s shop to see if he could repair it. Little does she know that knock will open the door to her own love.

A Blessed Season by Jillian Hart. A little abandoned girl asks bounty hunter Rafe Jones to find her long-lost mother for Christmas. The only clue she has is a sewing case. It was easy enough to find the woman that the case belongs to, but Cora Sims doesn’t seem to have an unkind bone in her body. While Cora’s the woman that Rafe has been looking for all his life, is she actually the girl’s mother?

I thoroughly enjoyed reading YULETIDE TREASURE. Both of the stories are light-hearted, and joyful, to help get readers into the mood for the holiday season. Both heroines, Arley and Cora, are loving and kind. The heroes varied greatly.

My favorite story in this collection of two was The Finest Gift, but A Blessed Season was just as good, in a different way. Both collections have a faith message, and both have realistic characters. If you are looking for a Holiday novella this season, make sure that YULETIDE TREASURE is on your list. Discussion questions for both novellas are included. $6.99. 272 pages.
