Sometimes the things that make us different are the things the world needs the most…
Sammy Scallop lives in Shellville, under the ocean. He has a lot of friends, and attends school at Reef Shellementary School. He is the star baseball player at their school. Everything is great until a fisherman drops his anchor on Sammy, breaking his shell, then everyone makes fun of him, and only one person stays friends with him.
But when their teacher, Miss Lucy Lobster gets caught in a lobster trap, Sammy’s broken shell is her only chance for freedom.
SAMMY, THE LITTLE BROKEN SHELL is an adorable little hardcover books that teach children that the things that make us different can make us valuable. The story is engaging, both my six year old and nine year old were instantly enthralled by it, and the pictures are beautifully done and very colorful, insuring that even younger readers will sit still and listen—if just to look at the pictures.
If you have a favorite young child, then SAMMY, THE LITTLE BROKEN SHELL is a book that you should consider. It would make a wonderful anytime gift, and teaches a valuable lesson as well. Discussion questions are included at the end of the book. 33 pages. $14.99 hardcover

This sounds like a great children's book. A great lesson in appearances. It reminds me how David wasn't as good looking as his brothers, but his heart was a King's heart. God knew this while others judged him by his appearance. The heart is what matters.
