When Chrissy Robinson learns she’s pregnant, after her boyfriend ships off to Vietnam (without proposing to her), she quickly writes to tell him. But weeks go by, and still there’s no response from him. After she learns he’s been listed as MIA, she struggles with how she’ll get through nursing school, pregnant, and working long hours as a waitress. Can she raise her baby, all alone? Then John’s parents insist she allow them to raise her baby. Will John come home? And even if he does, will he marry her?

A story of love, forgiveness, and redemption, just in time for Christmas.

My thoughts: First, the disclaimer. "I was provided a free kindle copy of this book. All opinions are my own." That done, LOVE LETTER FROM VIETNAM has an intriguing cover, though it doesn't really express the flavor of the book. It is set during the Vietnam War.

Chrissy and John met at an officer party (unclear why Chrissy was there) and they hit it off, dated some, and as made clear in the blurb, became intimate. He left without telling her he loved her and without asking her to marry him, but he does ask her to write and to "wait for him." Then he leaves. Chrissy writes faithfully, and struggles to get through  nursing school and work as a waitress, and as you know, a poor college student, low-paying job... do the math.

Her neediness and highs and lows of emotions did get annoying, but I'm sure they were realistic and she was scared. I was amazed she was so courageous to go introduce herself to his family and parts of that encounter was encouraging and parts were not so much.

A sweet romantic novella that is easily read in an evening.
