Tom Haskins needs a wife. At least that is what everyone tells him. Actually, Tom is happy with his life as an up and coming artist, at least until all his friends settle down and start pushing for Tom to do the same. So, at a friend’s urging, Tom places an ad in a New York newspaper for a wife. And a Sara McGee responds.

Sara is surprised when her friend hands her a letter and tells Sara that she is going to New Hampshire to be a man’s wife. Who would want her? After all, Sara is homeless, poor, uneducated, and ugly. But still, this man sent money for her ticket to Bethlehem. So she packs up her meager belongings and goes.

Tom’s friend has already set Tom up with Annabelle, a wealthy socialite from Boston, but Tom still wants to meet the lady of means from New York City. He certainly isn’t expecting a homeless person to be the one answering his ad. Now what does he do? How can he explain to Sara she isn’t what he expected—while Annabelle is everything he ever dreamed of. And what if the most precious gifts don’t always come as expected?

LOVE FINDS YOU IN BETHLEHEM, NEW HAMPSHIRE is the latest in the Love Finds You series. This book is a historical, set during the Christmas season, so it’s a fantastic book to consider reading during this holiday season.

Not exactly what I was expecting in the way of a romance, LOVE FINDS YOU IN BETHLEHEM, NEW HAMPSHIRE is still a tender story. I am not used to the types of main characters that are featured in this book, Tom Haskins seems rather easily swayed by other’s opinions at first, and Sara McGee is severely lacking in self-confidence. Still, if you like tender Christmas themed stories, then LOVE FINDS YOU IN BETHELEM, NEW HAMPSHIRE is a book to consider. $12.99. 295 pages.
